Hello and welcome to my Forest of Cane website offering vintage fishing tackle for sale. My name is Richard Stork and I have been fishing since I was a small boy. At some point I discovered the joy of using Vintage or Traditional equipment. I’ve been fishing with split cane rods and suitable reels and accessories ever since.
I have now been collecting Vintage and Contemporary Traditional fishing equipment for over 20 years. The direction of my collection has evolved leaving me with, as my good fishing friend Tommy declared one day, a Forest of Cane! What to do and how to go about thinning down my collection became an ever growing question and one a few likeminded collecting friends also shared – and so here we are.
On this website you will find items from my collection that I am now happy to see go to a new home. You will also find items from other collecting friends, typically by fine contemporary makers and Vintage original examples.
This is not my “day job” so please bear with me if I do not respond to your enquiries immediately. Rest assured I will do so as soon as time allows.

If you would like to purchase or view any of the rods, reels or accessories on my website please make contact by email or telephone and I can make arrangements from there.
I currently do not take card payments but can accept payment by bank transfer or cash.
I am happy to post reels or accessories by Royal Mail Special Delivery, insured for full value. However I do not have the ability to ship rods at present so these will need to be collected in person.
